The Defiant Ones, Love Interest Part One

OR 'I don't believe you! That's not true...I'll do it my way!'

These women stay when you tell them to run and go where they should fear to tread. If not for them the body count in horror flicks would be two! The Hero spends half the film saving her from her own poor judgement that placed her in peril, all because she did THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE of what she was instructed to do.

Nevermind, the Hero has experience with terrorists/mobsters/aliens/
mercenaries/gangbangers/unstoppable homicidal maniacs, her neurotic desire to OPPOSE him DRIVES her to risk her life as well as his. Logic and self-preservation be damned, she knows best!

Sometimes it is her desire to be right; or champion whom she believes to be the underdog; or naive faith in another authority figure; or even the need to show
the Hero how independent and smart she is. Maybe subconsiously there is an attempt to be the Princess in the Tower... More rebellious teenager than self-reliant woman, they prove very unrealistic when their stockings don't run and their makeup remains Max Factor- flawless; and completely bloody ANNOYING when you only came to see things being blown up. Is THIS half-arsed attempt at sexual tension and sensuality supposed to distract the woman who lost date-film roulette? One thinks not!


The Goddess is not suffering from heat stroke but testosterone-driven filmous interruptous. (wink)
